Watches come in various shapes, sizes, and styles. The different numbers of watch styles and watchmakers has led to a robust watch collection market. Collectors look for interesting, unique, and rare watches to add to the growing treasure troves of watch memorabilia.  Below is a brief guide to some of the most rare and interesting watches around the world. This is part two of a two-part post!

1. Patek Philippe Reference 1518 In Steel

Rolex Cosmograph Daytona "Paul Newman Oyster Sotto unique

Brand/Maker: Patek Philippe

Year Made: 1940’s

Approx. Price: $11,000,000

Starting off with another Patek Phillipe, see part one for another beautiful piece. This is sometimes listed as the most expensive watch sold at auction! It is believed that only four of these amazing watches were made in steel. The Patek Philippe Reference 1518 is already a rare watch, but to find a version in steel is like finding a needle in a haystack times a million!

2. Bao Dai Rolex Reference 6062

Patek Phillipe Reference 2499 watch

Brand/Maker: Rolex

Year Made: 1952

Approx. Price: $5,600,000

What is a rare watch blog without a Rolex? This particular type Rolex was owned by the last emperor of Vietnam, Bao Dai, hence the name Bao Dai Rolex. The last emperor commissioned Rolex to give him their rarest watch at the time, which turned out to be this timepiece. There are only three black dial models in existence.

3. Hublot Big Bang (5 million dollar version)

Graff Diamonds Hallucination

Brand/Maker: Hublot

Year Made: 2010’s

Approx. Price: $5,000,000

Another of what I would classify as the “different” type of watch, this watch features 1280 diamonds at three carats each. The Big Bang line features many beautiful watches with assuredly less diamonds, but what’s the point of that? The watch was given by Beyoncé to Jay-Z for his 43rd birthday. I would be remiss if I did not mention that I partial chose to feature this watch due to its amazing name!

4. Franck Muller Aeternitas Mega 4

Breguet Marie Antoinette Grand Complication Pocket Watch

Brand/Maker: Franck Muller

Year Made: 2010’s

Approx. Price: $2,700,000

Another interestingly named watch, the Aeternitas Mega 4 features a ludicrous 1,483 components. The watch is listed by Franck Muller as the most complicated wristwatch in the world. The watch line features five styles with style number four being presented here. The watch also contains a calendar that will be accurate for a thousand years!
